Why Nutrient Pairing Matters

You might be eating all the right foods but still not getting the nutrients you need. The reason? Nutrient absorption depends heavily on what you eat together.

Iron and vitamin C are the classic example. Eating iron-rich spinach on its own means your body absorbs a fraction of the iron. Add a squeeze of lemon juice and absorption increases by up to six times. This is why Nutridly pairs these ingredients in the same recipe, not just the same meal plan.

On the flip side, some nutrient combinations work against each other. Calcium blocks iron absorption, which means having a glass of milk with your iron-rich lentil soup actually reduces the benefit. Nutridly keeps these in separate meals automatically.

Turmeric is another fascinating example. Curcumin, the active compound in turmeric, is poorly absorbed on its own. But add a pinch of black pepper and absorption increases by up to 2000%. Every Nutridly curry recipe includes black pepper for exactly this reason.

These are not minor optimisations. For someone with low iron or an inflammatory condition, proper nutrient pairing can make the difference between a diet that works and one that just looks good on paper.
