No Recent Blood Test? Here's How the Home Kit Works

Most people who land on Nutridly don't have a recent blood test sitting in a drawer. Maybe your last one was years ago, maybe your GP only checks a handful of markers when you're not actively unwell, or maybe you've just never had one done privately. That's the normal starting point, not the exception, and it's exactly the gap the Nutridly Core kit closes.

The kit is a finger-prick home blood test, posted to your door. There's no clinic booking, no needle, no waiting room. You take a small sample yourself following the instructions in the box, post it back in the prepaid packaging, and it's processed in a UKAS-accredited UK laboratory, the same accreditation standard the NHS uses. Nutridly Core covers 20+ markers: iron and ferritin, vitamin D, B12 and folate, thyroid function, inflammation, cholesterol, and more, chosen specifically because they're the ones our engine actually uses to build your plan.

The part that matters most is what happens after your sample is processed. With an existing blood test, you'd normally photograph or type in the results yourself. With a kit, there's nothing to upload. Results come back through our lab partner, Vitall, and flow straight into your Nutridly account automatically. You'll get a couple of emails directly from Vitall along the way, when your kit dispatches and when your sample is received, alongside your usual Nutridly updates. That's expected and part of the order, not a separate account you need to manage.

Once your results land, Nutridly reads every marker against functional ranges (the levels associated with feeling well, not just the wider "not clinically deficient" range labs use), and rebuilds your meal plan around whatever your body actually needs right now. If you've tested before, it also looks at the trend between tests, so you can see whether the changes you've been eating for are actually moving the numbers.

You can order a kit any time from your Nutrients page, and if you've tested recently, we'll say so and suggest waiting a few weeks rather than testing again too soon, nutrition takes time to show up in blood work. If it's been a while, or you've never had this done privately, there's no prerequisite. You don't need an existing result to start.

One honest note: a home kit, like any blood test, is a snapshot for nutrition planning, not a diagnosis. If anything in your results looks concerning, we'll always point you toward your GP rather than tell you to ignore it. What the kit gives you is the real starting data most people are missing, the difference between guessing at what your body needs and actually knowing.
